Where to get help
Fixes to try before you contact Sezzle
Many common problems can be solved in a few minutes without waiting for an agent. Try these first.
- Update the app. An outdated version can cause loading errors and missing features.
- Restart and log back in. This clears many display glitches, such as a balance that hasn’t refreshed.
- Check your linked payment method. An expired card or a closed bank account is a frequent cause of failed payments.
- Review your order details. Due dates, amounts and refund status are usually visible right in the order.
- Search the help center. Typing a short phrase like “refund” or “payment failed” often brings up the exact steps.
If none of these work, you’ve still gained something: you can tell support exactly what you already tried, which helps them skip basic troubleshooting. For login trouble specifically, try resetting your password from the app’s sign-in screen before reaching out.

A support message template that gets faster answers
Support agents handle many tickets a day. A message that answers their questions up front usually skips a round of back-and-forth.
Copy this structure into the in-app chat and fill in the blanks:
Tips that make a difference
“Please waive the fee” or “please update the balance” is clearer than “please fix this.”
Opening several tickets for the same issue can slow things down.
Save the ticket number and the date of each reply.
Calm, factual messages are easier to act on.
Common issues and where to start
| Issue | First step |
|---|---|
| Refund not showing | Confirm the merchant processed it; refunds apply to remaining installments first |
| Payment failed | Pay manually in the app, then contact support about fees |
| Sezzle Cash not received | Check delivery method; ACH takes 2–3 business days |
| Login trouble | See our login help |
Refunds and merchant disputes: who handles what
Many “Sezzle problems” are really merchant problems. Knowing who is responsible saves you time.
So start with the store. Get the refund confirmation in writing, then send it to Sezzle if your balance hasn’t changed after a reasonable wait.
If the merchant won’t respond or refuses a refund you’re entitled to, tell Sezzle support with your evidence: order details, messages with the store and delivery tracking.
Getting help with Sezzle Cash and payment problems
Sezzle Cash issues are usually about timing, so contact support before a problem turns into a missed payment.
Advance hasn’t arrived
Check which delivery method you chose. Debit-card delivery is usually fast; a standard bank transfer takes 2–3 business days. If the window has passed, message support with your SezzleCash reference.
You can’t make an upcoming installment
Look at your options in the app first — a reschedule may be possible, though it can carry a fee. Our article on rescheduling a Sezzle payment explains the steps.
Your request was declined
Support generally can’t override an automated decision, but knowing the common causes helps. See why Sezzle declines requests.
Still unresolved?
If you’ve given Sezzle a fair chance and the issue isn’t fixed, you can file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau at consumerfinance.gov/complaint. Include your ticket history.
Most issues never get that far. The fastest resolutions tend to come when you reach out early, keep every reply in one thread and send proof the first time. A few minutes of preparation usually beats days of waiting.
“One message with the order number, the amount and a screenshot gets resolved faster than three messages with partial details.”
