Key takeaways
  • Sezzle Cash advances of about $50–$300 require Sezzle Anywhere and arrive instantly to debit or by ACH in 2–3 business days.
  • You pay one flat fee — about $3.25 per $100 — and usually repay in five installments over roughly ten weeks.
  • Borrow only the gap, map payments to paydays, and count the ~$19.99 membership in the true cost.

Sezzle Cash is the newest service in the Sezzle App: a small, short-term cash advance you repay in installments.

It is built for moments when a bill, a car repair or a grocery run lands a few days before your paycheck. This page explains exactly how Sezzle Cash works in 2026, what it costs, who qualifies and how to use it without falling into a borrowing cycle.

What is Sezzle Cash?

Sezzle Cash — written SezzleCash in the app — is a cash advance product that Sezzle Inc. rolled out in phases during June 2026. It is available only to eligible Sezzle Anywhere subscribers.

Unlike classic Sezzle Pay in 4, which splits the price of a purchase at a store, Sezzle Cash sends money directly to your bank account or debit card so you can use it for anything.

According to Sezzle's second-quarter 2026 results, SezzleCash requires no down payment, is repaid through Pay-in-4 or Pay-in-5 installments, and loans are originated by WebBank, a Utah-chartered industrial bank that also issues the Sezzle virtual card. Sezzle reported an average advance size of about $165 shortly after launch.

How an advance works

  1. 1

Open the Sezzle App and tap the SezzleCash tile. If you are eligible, you will see the maximum amount you can request.

  2. 2
    Choose your amount

You do not have to take the full offer — borrowing only what you need lowers the fee.

  3. 3
    Review the terms

The app shows the service fee, the APR equivalent and every payment date before you commit.

  4. 4
    Pick a delivery method

Instant delivery to an eligible debit card usually arrives within minutes; a standard bank transfer takes two to three business days.

  5. 5
    Accept and receive funds

Repayments are then debited automatically on each due date from your default payment method.

You can hold only one SezzleCash advance at a time, and its payments run separately from any Sezzle shopping orders you already have.

That separation matters: if you have several Pay in 4 orders active, your total due on a given week could be higher than the advance payment alone.

Fees and a real cost example

Sezzle Cash does not charge compounding interest. You pay a single service fee that scales with the amount. Published examples show about $3.25 on a $100 advance, rising to roughly $11.25 on the largest advances.

Instant delivery carries no extra charge. Sezzle does not publish a complete fee table, so always check the exact fee in the app.

Cost itemTypical amountNotes
Service fee≈$3.25 per $100; up to ≈$11.25Added to your first payment
Sezzle Anywhere membership≈$19.99 per monthRequired to access SezzleCash
Instant delivery$0To an eligible debit card
Failed payment feeUp to $6.95If an autopay attempt is declined
Card payment surchargePossible small feeAvoid by repaying from a bank account

Worked example: You borrow $100. Nothing is due today. Your first payment at week two is $23.25 (a $20 installment plus the $3.25 fee), followed by four $20 payments at weeks four, six, eight and ten. Total repaid: $103.25.

If you also count one month of Sezzle Anywhere at $19.99, the true cost of that single advance is about $23.24 — which is why we recommend Sezzle Cash mainly for people who already get value from Sezzle Anywhere's other features. Try your own numbers in the Sezzle Cash calculator.

MR

“When I tested SezzleCash, the fee screen was clear and the schedule was easy to follow. The cost people underestimate is the membership.

If you would cancel Sezzle Anywhere straight after the advance, add that month to your math and compare it with a paycheck advance from your employer or a credit-union option.”

Repayment schedule

Most advances use Pay in 5: five installments roughly two weeks apart, covering about ten weeks. Some offers use Pay in 4. Because nothing is due on the day you borrow, the first payment arrives about two weeks later, which usually lines up with a biweekly paycheck.

Autopay

Payments are collected automatically from your default method on each due date.

Pay early

You can pay one or all installments early in the app with no penalty.

Bank vs. card

Linking a bank account avoids card surcharges and is the method Sezzle prefers for good standing.

Hardship

If you know a payment will fail, contact Sezzle support before the due date rather than after.

Who qualifies

Eligibility is decided inside the Sezzle App, but these conditions are required in practice:

  • An active Sezzle Anywhere subscription
  • Residence in a state where SezzleCash is offered (about 30 states)
  • Social Security number on file and a linked bank account or debit card
  • A track record of on-time Sezzle payments
  • Age 18+ (19+ in Alabama) and a U.S. mobile number that receives texts

As of October 2026, SezzleCash is not available in Washington, D.C., Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

How fast the money arrives

With an eligible debit card, Sezzle Cash usually arrives instantly or within about 30 minutes — and Sezzle does not charge extra for speed, which is unusual among cash advance apps.

A standard ACH transfer to a bank account usually takes two to three business days. Requests made late on a Friday or before a bank holiday may take longer by ACH.

Sezzle Cash vs. other short-term options

OptionTypical amountTypical costRepayment

Bank overdraftVariesOften $25–$35 per itemNext deposit

Credit union PAL$200–$2,000APR capped at 28%1–12 months

Sezzle Cash compares well with overdrafts and payday loans because the fee is small and repayment is spread out. A credit union Payday Alternative Loan (PAL) can be cheaper if you are already a member. Read our deeper comparison: Sezzle Cash vs. payday loans.

Expert tips before you borrow

  1. 1
Borrow the gap, not the maximum

If you are $80 short, request $80.

  2. 2

Map all five payments to your paydays before you tap accept.

  3. 3

Repay from a bank account to avoid card surcharges.

  4. 4

Keep total Sezzle obligations under 10% of take-home pay in any two-week period.

  5. 5
Decide on Sezzle Anywhere in advance

If you only need one advance, set a reminder to review the subscription before it renews.

DO

“The healthiest pattern we see is one advance for a true emergency, repaid early, followed by building a $300 starter emergency fund so the next surprise does not need credit at all.”
